Brown Advisory’s New York office is seeking a proactive and professional Portfolio Manager (PM) to join our team. This individual will help families and endowments achieve their unique financial objectives.
The ideal candidate will work closely with each client, conducting in-depth portfolio analysis across equities, fixed income, hedge funds, and private equity. As a trusted resource, this individual will provide research insights and design custom strategies that address each client’s liquidity needs and long-term ambitions, collaborating with the broader Brown Advisory team on portfolio construction, manager selection, risk evaluation, and more.
Portfolio Managers at Brown Advisory are at the center of client relationships—leading trading, reporting, and communication, and working alongside talented colleagues across our New York office and beyond to deliver the best possible outcomes for our clients. Portfolio Managers are responsible for creating client-specific materials, performing detailed analyses, and ensuring clients have everything they need to make informed decisions.
Given the complexity of our clients’ investment objectives and service needs, this role requires a strong understanding of a broad range of investment concepts, disciplines, and strategies, in addition to the ability to consistently apply Brown Advisory’s approach for each individual client. This role is both investment-focused and inclusive of broader client relationship management, as PMs are responsible for partnering across private client teams to develop strategies related to tax planning, wealth transfer, and philanthropy. Significant discretion and latitude are required to meet and interact with clients, prospective clients, and their tax and legal advisors.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization (e.g., H-1B , O-1, F-1 (OPT), TN, or any other non-immigrant visa classifications that require employer support or sponsorship).
NY Salary: $175-225k. Commensurate with experience and location. Does not include bonus or long term incentive eligibility (if applicable).
