The Pool Attendant is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the pool area.

Job Description

Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include:   

Key Job Functions

  • Removes leaves and other debris from surface of water.
  • Cleans inside of pool ( vacuuming, scrubbing and upkeep of sides of pool)
  • Make sure all pool furniture is neatly arranged and cleaned as well
  • Bring all necessary towels out to the pool area and place them neatly on the towel table with ends facing the bar and colors coordinated.
  • Towels are to be placed neatly on the towel table.
  • Check all trash bins and empty towel bins.
  • Wash inside and outside of trash cans
  • Open all umbrellas, clean table tops, and wipe off all chairs.
  • Clean windows on pool area as often as needed. Clean and check pool bathrooms, regularly.
  • Clean pillars around pool area, daily.

Qualifications and Skills

A candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate and provide applicable examples to support his/her competency.

  • Track record of delivering exceptional guest or client experience
  • Have basic to intermediate writing/reading/comprehension skills and professional vocabulary and etiquette
  • Have the ability to comfortably interact with guests, work alone or with others
  • Maintain Sonesta uniform and grooming standards
  • Comfortably work in a diverse environment with regard to guests, members of the Housekeeping T.E.A.M. and hotel employees
  • PC-based computer platforms (Smartphone technology – HotSOS – to report maintenance discrepancies)

Education and/or Experience                                                                                  

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
