Let’s talk about you
The Platform Owner Manager provides leadership and strategic direction for the Platform Owner function. This role ensures alignment between business product strategy, engineering delivery and operational readiness. The role is accountable for setting product ownership standards, managing complex platform backlogs, and enabling Platform Owners to deliver value across multiple domains.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Significant experience in product/platform or system ownership, technical business analysis, or product management, with at least 3 years in a senior/lead role.
Demonstrated experience managing complex technical platforms and services at scale.
Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and DevOps practices.
Knowledge of cloud hosting, APIs, data platforms, contact centre, and/or telco network technologies (preferred).
Experience with Webex Contact Centre and Calabrio is highly regarded.
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and align technology delivery with business outcomes.
How will you support our “Why?”
The Platform Owner Manager acts as the bridge between business product management, engineering leadership, and site reliability/operations, ensuring that technical platforms, infrastructure and services and prioritised, scalable, secure and aligned to organisational strategy.
Your responsibilities will include:
Defining and maintaining standards, frameworks, and best practices for Platform Ownership across the organisation.
Acting as the senior point of escalation for backlog prioritisation and cross-squad dependencies.
Providing thought leadership in the evolution of platforms, APIs, and cloud/hosting capabilities, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and business strategy.
Representing the Platform Owner function at executive forums, steering groups, and program-level ceremonies.
Providing strategic direction and platform evolution for Webex Contact Centre and Calabrio, ensuring these platforms support scalable, secure, and customer-centric operations.
Mentoring and coaching Platform Owners at all levels, building career pathways and strengthening product ownership discipline.
Owning and governing backlogs for complex or enterprise-wide platforms (e.g., core off the shelf and in-house developed enterprise applications, IaaS/CaaS, API ecosystems).
Balancing delivery of new features with technical debt remediation, resilience, and compliance requirements.
Developing internal capability and knowledge around Webex Contact Centre and Calabrio, mentoring Platform Owners in these technologies and fostering vendor relationships.
