Piping Engineer

KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for a Piping Engineer to support the Abadi LNG project, one of the largest projects in Asia. This project will provide front-end design (FEED) for onshore liquefied natural gas facilities & will have a peak production capacity targets of 9.5 million tons per annum of LNG and 150 million standard cubic feet per day of pipeline gas. The Abadi LNG project has been designated a project of national strategic importance by the Indonesian government.

The Piping Engineer will be coordinating with piping designers, process engineers, and procurement teams to validate material quantities and specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain piping Material Take-Offs (MTOs) based on isometric drawings, P&IDs, and 3D models
  • Ensure MTOs are aligned with project standards, codes (e.g., ASME, API), and client requirements
  • Support change management by updating MTOs to reflect design revisions and field modifications
  • Assist in developing bill of materials (BOMs) and support procurement with technical clarifications
  • Interface with construction teams to reconcile material usage and support field material tracking
  • Participate in design reviews, model walkthroughs, and quantity verification workshops
  • Contribute to progress reporting, cost forecasting, and quantity trend analysis

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or related Engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with average experience ranging from 10 + years including piping engineering and MTO development within Onshore oil & gas or LNG projects
  • Proficiency in engineering tools such as SmartPlant, AVEVA E3D, S3D/AutoCAD, and Excel
  • Strong understanding of piping components, specifications, and fabrication practices
  • Effective communication and coordination across multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience with LNG facilities or large-scale Onshore EPC projects
  • Familiarity with modular construction and digital engineering platforms
  • Exposure to international codes and standards for piping systems
