Job Responsibilities:
Provide direct physical therapy service for both inpatients and outpatients. Direct patients in both active and passive therapeutic exercise Direct patient activities for gait and functional training Direct patients in care and use of equipment orthotic and prosthetic devices Observe patient response to treatment and notify physical therapist of change in function or physical/emotional response
Provide appropriate documentation of departmental activities Document all patient visits as outlined by Documentation Standards Assist physical therapist as directed with departmental Quality Assurance Program Assure that patient charges are processed correctly and in a timely manner
Coordinates non-technical aspects of department Maintain inventory of supplies including SPD linens and general office supplies Clean mat and toys as outlined in Infection Control for Ancillary Services
Assists physical therapist with interdisciplinary communications Attend patient care conferences/rounds as indicated Assist with inservices/seminars as appropriate Attend departmental meetings
Promote positive relations within the hospital
Performs other related duties as assigned in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Minimum Education and/or Training:
Completion of accredited program for Physical Therapy Assistants-Associate Degree.
Minimum Experience:
1+ years of pediatric experience preferred.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by Law:
(LC: PTASST-TN) Physical Therapist Assistant Licensure by the State of Tennessee Board of Examiners, Division of Health Related Boards required.

This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
