About the role:
We’re looking for a hands-on People Operations Manager to lead our People Operations team while actively contributing to daily operations. You will report to our Head of HR operations (People operations, People experience & People analytics). You’ll combine team leadership with operational execution: ensuring high-quality, timely delivery of People Ops processes, coaching team members, and driving continuous improvement across our employee lifecycle operations.
This role is ideal for an experienced People Ops professional who enjoys getting into the details, thrives on building reliable processes at scale, and is motivated by enabling others to do their best work.
Scope and impact
Team size: Manage a team of Individual Contributors within People Operations (at least 5 people).
Operational scope: Own day-to-day execution and improvement of core People Ops processes (e.g., onboarding, data integrity, employee changes, payroll inputs, benefits administration, compliance tasks, HRIS administration, reporting).
Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with Talent Acquisition, Finance/Payroll, Legal, IT, and HR Business Partners to deliver seamless employee experiences and ensure compliance.
What you’ll do
Lead and supervise daily operations
- Plan and allocate workload, set priorities, and track progress to ensure SLAs and quality standards are met.
- Monitor team dashboards, queues, and tickets; remove blockers and rebalance capacity as needed.
- Ensure operational continuity during peaks, audits, and organizational changes.
Manage and develop the team
- Provide day-to-day support, coaching, and close supervision of ICs.
- Clarify missions, responsibilities, and expectations; ensure role clarity and accountability.
- Run performance rituals: 1:1s, feedback loops, reviews, objective setting, and growth plans.
Execute and improve People Ops processes
- Own and contribute directly to execution in your area of expertise (e.g., HRIS, onboarding, data changes, benefits, leave management, mobility).
- Safeguard data quality, compliance, and documentation across processes and systems.
- Drive continuous improvement: simplify workflows, standardize SOPs, reduce errors, and improve cycle times.
Coordinate projects and stakeholder alignment
- Coordinate cross-functional deliveries (e.g., payroll cut-offs, policy rollouts, system changes).
- Communicate status, risks, and decisions clearly to stakeholders; ensure alignment with People and company priorities.
- Support change management for new tools, policies, and operating models.
Reporting and controls
- Maintain accurate source-of-truth data in the HRIS; ensure timely, complete, and auditable records.
- Prepare and review People Ops reports and dashboards; contribute inputs for payroll and headcount reporting.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and relevant labor and data-privacy regulations.

- Ensure each team member understands missions and responsibilities.

- Maintain an active contribution in your area of expertise with high-quality execution.
- Deliver management tasks for supervised ICs:
- Handle operational monitoring, team coordination, team rituals, and track individual progress.
- Ensure performance management throughout the year, consulting your Head of as needed.
- Foster a positive, collaborative team environment and show ownership.
- Support professional development with regular follow-ups and constructive feedback.
Who we're looking for
- 5+ years in People Operations or HR shared services, including 1-2+ years in a coordination or team lead capacity.
- Strong command of HRIS administration (such as Lucca, Workday) and People Ops processes across the employee lifecycle.
- Experience partnering with Payroll, Finance, Legal, and IT; understanding of data privacy and compliance requirements.
- Analytical and process mindset: comfortable with metrics, SLAs, and root-cause analysis.
- Excellent organization, prioritization, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure; able to operate in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience in a multi-country environment and with growth-stage/scale-up organizations.
- Exposure to HR compliance, audits, or internal controls frameworks.
- Participation in HRIS implementations or workflow automation initiatives.
- Familiarity with French employment context and benefits administration.
- French & English (France & Germany are our main markets now, but we have employees all over Europe)
