Description:

We have openings in both Acute Rehab and Transitional Care Units.   Positions are at Gottlieb and MacNeal. Our units work with patients that are post stroke, heart attack, transplant and ortho procedures in an inpatient setting.  Average patient stay is up to 10 days.

• American Heart Association’s Target: Stroke Honor Roll award. To qualify for this recognition, hospitals must meet specific criteria that reduce the time between an eligible patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment with a clot-buster thrombolytic.
• All three Post-Acute Rehab programs are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and both Acute Inpatient Rehab Units are Stroke Certified.
• Our Skilled Nursing Unit is CMS 5 Star rated and has been recognized by US News and World Report as best in Short Term Rehabilitation for 3 consecutive years.

Performs a variety of direct patient care procedures to assist the unit manager, professional staff and physicians in providing patient care focused on the needs of the patient.

Position Requirements

Minimum Education:

Preferred: High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education

Minimum Experience:

Required: Less than one year of previous job-related experience

Preferred: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience

Licensure/Certifications:

Required: Certified Nurse Assistant, BLS (Basic Life Support) through AHA

Other: Completion of a Nursing Assistant Program with placement on the Illinois Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry or verification of an equal or higher educational level in a clinically focused program. Individuals working as Patient Care Assistants at Loyola University Medical Center prior to 1997 are exempt from the above guidelines and are grandfathered into the Patient Care Tech roles upon successful completion of an in-house orientation and training program for the Patient Care Tech position.

Compensation: 

Salary Range: $16.70 - $25.53 per hour

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
