What We Need:
Are you passionate about keeping listeners informed about local traffic conditions across multiple radio markets? We’re looking for a detail-oriented Traffic Producer to join our 24/7 news operation, gathering and maintaining traffic data for our reporters and data clients. This role requires strong knowledge of roadways and traffic patterns in Texas and Oklahoma, and the ability to work remotely with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate is curious, adaptable, and eager to expand their skillset as new technologies emerge. You must be available to work various shifts—including holidays—and fill in as needed. While primarily remote, this position includes a hybrid schedule with on-site work from our Dallas office. Team collaboration is key, so we’re seeking someone who thrives in a supportive, fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do:
Gather regional traffic information and enter details into internal computer and web systems
Read traffic reports, commercials, and public service messages to listeners
Identify, research, and create copy regarding traffic to feature during on-air shift; finalizes content using digital audio editing software
Manage information; keeping all facts straight, making sure details are accurate and current, and tracking any changes
Maintain crucial deadlines in order to provide traffic updates in a timely fashion
May prepare written content, visual images, audio material and video footage for websites, blogs, or other social-media platforms
What You'll Need:
You must be able to read a map and locate incidents reported by local law enforcement and transportation agencies
You must be comfortable using social media platforms to gather and release traffic information
Experience with Digital audio editing software
Pleasant, charismatic and well-controlled voice; excellent pronunciation that is acceptable to radio program directors for multiple formats
Live radio experience is preferred
Must be able to deliver timely and accurate traffic reports
Ability to plan and organize, set priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Must be available work split shifts; 4 hours in AM Drive, 4 hours in PM Drive if needed
Must be available to work weekends and overnights
Available to work various shifts for a 24/7 News Operation
Must be available to fill-in and cover shifts as needed
Previous on-air radio experience required
Previous experience reading radio commercials & PSA's
Previous experience gathering weather information & providing forecasts
Must be able to work on-site from the Dallas office as needed for a hybrid schedule
Must be available to work all holidays
