We are searching for a Part time (20 hrs per week) Manual Software Test Engineer to join the MMS team within the Health and Civil Division. As a core member of the MMS team, you will play a valuable part in the continuing development and enhancement of the Digitized Materials Handling Service platform. Primary Responsibilities

The Manual Test Engineer will perform functional and integration testing through system and end-to-end evaluation. The candidate will develop and implement test cases/procedures and test reports and will support the software configuration management process. The candidate must understand all software components and their interface requirements. Tasking will include developing test data; defining test acceptance criteria; providing system testing expertise for test procedure documentation; reviewing of test plans; developing test methodologies. The selected individual will assist the Software Development team and be responsible for working collaboratively with the following groups: Requirements, Software Development and Deployment.

  • Plan and execute software testing
    • Support the development and execution of comprehensive test plans for functional testing during the software development lifecycle.
    • Support the test lead in conducting manual testing on the Product and its components to confirm readiness for use and to identify potential regressions.
    • Track findings to resolution, including retesting as necessary.
  • Support early test identification and development
    • Collaborate directly with requirement and development teams early in the development process to understand and help define system requirements and specifications.
    • Assist in ensuring system requirements are clear and testable.
    • Translate system requirements into detailed test cases
  • Participate in system-level test design and execution
    • Design tests to confirm the overall system meets the defined requirements and capabilities.
    • Execute test events to validate the integration and interaction of system components.
    • Identify issues and collaborate with developers to support resolution.
  • Work effectively as part of a remote team
    • Participate regularly in team meetings and provide clear and concise communications.
    • Collaborate with other project members on a regular basis
    • Utilize communication tools such as Microsoft Teams, MatterMost and Slack for active communications.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 8+ years of software product quality assurance including test planning, implementation and execution
  • An obsession with details and a creative approach to problem-solving
  • Stellar oral and written communication and teamwork skills, specifically in a remote setting.
  • Advanced working knowledge of SQA processes and methodologies; expertise in test planning, test case management, and defect analysis
  • Flexibility working in a dynamic, fast-moving, and changing product development environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision to achieve your goals
  • Demonstrated expertise with different testing methodologies and approaches such as functional/acceptance/end-to-end and system
  • Capable of quickly understanding business requirements and developing creative technical solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and at least 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Must have experience testing through a full system development life cycle, including implementing test plans, test cases, and test processes.
  • Must have experience participating in formal test events (Acceptance Test, User Acceptance Test, Software Final Release Test, Maintenance Release Test, etc.).
  • Must have experience collaborating with software developers to create formal test procedures.
  • Must have experience collecting, analyzing, presenting test results verbally and reporting test results in writing.
  • Must have experience documenting test results for corrective actions, reporting, and audits.
  • Must have experience testing systems from existing system and functional specifications.
  • Must have experience working in an agile team environment.
  • Must have strong communication skills and be able to successfully communicate with both management and technical personnel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience testing microservices-based web applications
  • Working knowledge of AWS and AWS Management Console
  • Experience with Section 508 compliance and testing
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with database testing.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with Filezilla and JAWS

Pay Range:

Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00
