JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Human Resources is seeking a part-time employee to assist our Part-Time Talent Acquisition team with our high-volume hiring. If you are a detail-oriented, customer-focused individual who enjoys working with others, please read the description below, complete a web application, and upload your resume for consideration.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn Workday and gain exposure to Human Resources/Talent Acquisition processes.  The expected commitment is approximately 15-20 hours per week and with the potential for 40 hours a week for 4-16 weeks during high volume months supporting Talent Acquisition functions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Administrative recruiting functions such as
    • Processing high volume hiring transactions in our HR System, Workday
    • Assisting with collection and uploading of required background check clearance documentation
    • Auditing assistance
  • Collaborating with Talent Acquisition Specialists
  • Providing excellent customer service via telephone and email

Required skills and experience include:

  • The successful candidate must demonstrate sensitivity in handling confidential information; commitment to handling questions and concerns with speed, accuracy, and professionalism; and sound judgment and discretion in referring inquiries to other HR staff members or units.
  • Ability to adapt, change, and generally operate in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor and as part of a team.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with peers, hiring managers, and customers is essential.

Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position offers flexible work. Ability to be on site for training purposes is essential. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
