Our Financial Services team supports education leaders in building strong, sustainable financial strategies that align resources to student needs. Through tools, data, and advisory support, we help districts and state agencies strengthen fiscal health and make informed, equity-driven financial decisions. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

The Part-time Director, Financial Services Consultant will provide flexible, project-based capacity for our Financial Services portfolio. Consultants in this pool will be engaged on a short-term basis to lead or co-lead district-level advisory projects focused on financial modeling, scenario-based budgeting, ROI analysis, and fiscal health diagnostics. 

 

The Part-time Director will be a valuable and key member of this work whose responsibilities will include: 

  • Lead or co-lead short-term, project-based consulting engagements supporting district- and state-level clients. 

  • Conduct advanced Excel-based financial modeling, scenario planning, and ROI analysis to inform strategic decision-making. 

  • Develop and refine data dashboards and visualizations using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools to illuminate financial trends and trade-offs. 

  • Facilitate executive-level advisory sessions with education leaders, guiding discussions around fiscal strategy, resource alignment, and sustainability. 

  • Synthesize complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for client-facing deliverables, presentations, and reports. 

  • Collaborate with TNTP’s internal Financial Services team to ensure consistency and quality across engagements. 

  • Operate effectively in independent or small, agile project teams under TNTP direction, adjusting to client needs and timelines. 

WHAT YOU HAVE 

We’re looking for senior-level consultants with a deep understanding of K–12 finance and strategy who can thrive in a flexible, project-based environment. 

 

Qualifications  

  • Expertise in school district finance, budgeting, and resource strategy, with demonstrated success driving data-informed decision-making. 

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel-based financial modeling and scenario analysis; experience with Power BI or similar visualization tools strongly preferred. 

  • Proven ability to translate complex financial information into compelling, accessible insights for executive and non-financial audiences. 

  • Experience facilitating executive-level discussions with CFOs, Superintendents, and leadership teams. 

  • Strong project management, communication, and client engagement skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to new project contexts and client needs.

TNTP offers a competitive hourly wage commensurate with experience in a similar position. The pay rate for this position is $80 per hour.
