Operates the Chlor-Alkali facility to convert salt feedstock into Chlorine to provide conforming feedstock for the manufacture of vinyl chloride monomer.  Operates equipment for the separation, purification, storage and shipping of co-products (caustic soda and hydrogen). Perform the primary thinking encompassed by this job description. Comply with all Company policies and procedures. Fully support Company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence at strategic and tactical levels including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities to initiate projects or communicate ideas to management as well as active participation on project teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Operates the chlorine cells, caustic evaporation, demineralized water system and hydrochloric acid (HCl) synthesis.
• Operates equipment in the brine facilities for the removal of impurities and metals.
• Provide steam and air to associated plant systems.
• Operates the chlorine and hydrogen drying, compression and liquification process.
• Operates caustic dilution system.
• Responsible for cooling tower and fire water diesel pumps.
• Monitor and maintain the chlorine wastewater.
• Operate and monitor the neutralization tower.
• Responsible for salt handling and brine sludge equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

            4 year college degree.
