Discover Impactful Work:

This position largely interacts with equivalent levels of internal personnel. That interaction requires good communication skills and customer service skills. The job encounters recurring work situations of a routine nature where the ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. Attention to detail and accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position as errors in work could cause customers to receive a non-conforming product. This position requires the individual to be ready to start work on-time daily and maintain strong attendance performance.

A day in the Life:

  • Verify and issue component materials to work orders working both individually or as part of a team in accordance with established standard operating procedures to ensure customers receive materials that meet or exceed quality specifications.
  • Optimally communicate and collaborate with work groups to ensure the completion of daily production.
  • Work in laboratory environment while adhering to room specific PPE requirements.
  • Ensure and maintain inventory control, as required.
  • Satisfactorily complete ThermoFisher Scientific training requirements on time and operate within all ISO and FDA standards pertaining to Frederick Site Manufacturing.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

  • Minimum of 6 months of related experience
  • Proven ability to consistently and independently follow policies and procedures, instructions, and to meet schedules
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities while exhibiting attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills such as proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite to support the operation in its daily functions
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a manufacturing life science company
  • Biology or chemistry background

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Inventory management: Performing multiple transactions in ERP system. Be able to perform product inspections and verifying SKU, LOT, and QTY. Able to properly handle and process materials that are in temperature sensitive conditions in accordance with established standard operating procedures to ensure customers receive a product that meets or exceeds quality specifications (Ambient, Cold Room (2-8), Freezer (-20), and Ultra Cold (-80). 
  • Communicate concisely and collaborate with work groups to ensure the completion of daily production. 
  • Detail oriented with the ability to troubleshoot problems thoroughly. 
  • Work in both warehouse and manufacturing environments. Warehouse requirements: wear steel toe shoes and safety vest. MFG daily gowning requirements for all activities include lab coats, hair nets, and safety glasses. 
  • Safely operate a 26’ foot box truck and transit vehicle. 
  • Safely operate pallet jacks and can lift 35 lbs. independently and up to 70 lbs. with a team lift. 
  • Able to work in normal to extreme conditions: Ambient, Cold Room (2-8), Freezer (-20), and Ultra Cold (-80 Upright Freezer). 
  • Completing ThermoFisher Scientific training requirements on time and operate within all ISO and FDA standards pertaining to Frederick Site Manufacturing.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $16.78–$25.16.
