Job Description:

Role Overview

The Operations Supervisor (Leader) is a tactical, on-the-floor leader responsible for day-to-day site operations, including assembly, safety, inventory, and facility management. This role directly supervises technicians and supports warehouse, procurement, and general administrative functions tied to general operations. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Supervisor will set the pace for the team, ensuring projects stay on track and that the facility runs smoothly. This is a role for someone who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and be involved in the details while driving accountability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Site & Facility Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the 20,000 sq. ft. facility, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution of work.

  • Actively monitor the shop floor, ensuring assembly and integration tasks are completed to standard.

  • Manage inventory, warehouse activities, procurement, and reporting.

  • Maintain facility licenses, required postings, and equipment safety.

  • Address operational issues quickly, making real-time adjustments to keep projects moving.

Assembly & Production Oversight

  • Oversee technician assembly and integration work, stepping in to resolve issues directly.

  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures, quality standards, and delivery timelines.

  • Track and report daily KPIs such as throughput, on-time delivery, and quality.

  • Support scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow planning to reduce bottlenecks.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise a team of 3 technicians; provide daily direction, coaching, and support.

  • Lead daily/weekly standups to keep technicians aligned with project priorities.

  • Build a culture of flexibility, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Be actively present on the floor, modeling expectations for safety and quality.

Customer & Vendor Communication

  • Provide direct updates to customers on timelines and project status when needed.

  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure timely material and service delivery.

Process & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and refine operational procedures and workflows.

  • Identify opportunities to improve assembly processes, reduce costs, and increase throughput.

  • Create simple, clear reporting on site KPIs to inform decision-making.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in operations, production, or facility supervision, ideally in custom machine building, automation, or systems integration.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead technicians and stay engaged in day-to-day work.

  • Strong knowledge of assembly, testing, and integration workflows.

  • Experience with inventory management, safety compliance, and site administration.

  • Hands-on leadership style with the ability to resolve issues directly and tactically.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
