Operations Supervisor

US-PA-Cheswick (EMD) Full time

We are looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.

The open position will most likely be on a back shift (2nd and 3rd) for some duration of time.

The ideal candidate will manage a team of represented employees and maintain product flow

throughout the factory.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Supervise hourly union employees including the interpretation and administration of labor agreements.
  • Maintain records including labor activities, attendance, skills inventory, training development, shop performance and budgets.
  • Ensure the product is manufactured to specifications and procedures under the guidelines of verbatim compliance to work instructions.
  • Maintain compliance to business policies and procedures pertaining to safety, housekeeping, discipline, attendance and work habits.
  • Plan and coordinate work assignments in support of production plans.  Develop and implement plans to eliminate work backlog and support achievement of a balance workload.
  • Lead the area of responsibility in rework reduction, barrier busting, and lean manufacturing. 6s concept and quality improvements initiatives through the development, implementation and monitoring of process, facility, production and safety plans.
  • Define and implement individual training programs based on the assessment of individual skills inventories and negotiating skills.
  • Experience in assembly processes and applications and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Ability to schedule and prioritize work based on production schedules and available resources.
  • Ability to master computer systems and analyze data.

Salary: $76,200.00 - $127,000.00 ​ per year

What You Bring:

  • High School diploma or equivalent,
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a manufacturing environment and two (2) years’ experience in a lead position,
  • Winding, Welding, Assembly and/or Engineering background is a plus.
  • Four year machinist journeyman graduate is a plus,
  • Basic computer skill with the ability to use Oracle.
  • Willing to work back shifts and/or weekends,
  • Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
