OCIO Strategic Relations Specialist – London


Mercer is seeking a highly motivated and proactive OCIO Strategic Relationship Specialist to lead and nurture key relationships with key decision makers in the OCIO market. This role is critical to the continued success of our Investment Solutions business and involves close collaboration with the Strategic Partnerships Leader to support and deliver our engagement strategy. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in business development by managing relationships with Third Party Evaluators (TPEs) and Professional Trustees (PTs), coordinating due diligence processes, and developing new content to showcase our latest thinking.

We will count on you to:

  • Work closely with the Strategic Partnerships Leader to support the delivery of our engagement strategy

  • Coordinate and lead regular updates and due diligence research meetings with TPEs and PTs

  • Take ownership of key investment deliverables including DDQs, RFPs, quarterly requests, and presentations, ensuring professional and timely delivery

  • Work closely with Mercer’s wider funding, endgame and covenant teams

  • Lead and manage relationships with Third Party Evaluators, including organising and leading research meetings

  • Build and maintain strong personal relationships with individuals at TPEs and PTs to enhance collaboration and business opportunities

  • Mentor and support junior team members in their development and engagement with TPEs

  • Support the Strategic Partnership team in managing professional trustee relationships, ensuring alignment with business objectives

  • Work closely with the wider investment and sales teams to regularly develop new content and support business development efforts

  • Assist with management information (MI) reporting and pipeline management processes

What you need to have: 

  • Excellent technical expertise in investment, including portfolio construction, risk management, and fiduciary management

  • Motivation to succeed in a business development role with a proactive, outcome-oriented approach

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and deliverables simultaneously with strong attention to detail

  • Strong technical knowledge of the UK OCIO and professional trustee market, including investment focus areas

  • Established and growing industry network within the OCIO and professional trustee markets
