Work Shift
Full-time (40 hours per week)
Five (5) days per week, Monday through Friday
No weekend shifts
No hospital call responsibilities
Primarily outpatient clinic with potential involvement in same-day follow-ups or ambulatory cardiology activities
Provide comprehensive cardiovascular care for patients in the general cardiology clinic (new patient evaluations, follow-up visits, medication management, risk-factor counselling, coordination of diagnostics).
Manage the plan of care under cardiologist supervision, including reviewing labs, ordering and interpreting non-invasive studies (e.g., ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests), and coordinating care with other services (imaging, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, vascular).
Serve as a bridge between the cardiologists and other team members (nurses, care coordinators, advanced imaging, etc.) to optimize patient flow, quality care, and outcomes.
Participate in multidisciplinary cardiovascular care conferences, guideline-based practice updates, and quality improvement initiatives.
Educate patients and families regarding cardiovascular disease, preventive strategies, lifestyle modification, medications, and diagnostic/procedural preparation.
Collaborate with the academic missions of the department: mentoring advanced practice students or fellows, participating in departmental meetings, and supporting clinic workflow improvements.
Ensure documentation and regulatory compliance consistent with institutional, state, and professional standards of practice.
Master’s degree or higher in Nursing (for NP) or Physician Assistant studies (for PA) from an accredited institution.
Current licensure as NP or PA in the State of Georgia, or eligible for licensure.
National certification (e.g., NP-C, FNP-BC, or PA-C) in good standing.
Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in cardiology, cardiovascular medicine or a related field preferred. Experience in outpatient cardiology practice preferred.
Excellent clinical skills in cardiovascular assessment, diagnosis, and management; familiarity with non-invasive cardiac testing (ECG, echo, stress testing) is advantageous.
Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary academic environment.
Commitment to patient-centered care, continuous learning, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
Prior exposure to academic cardiology environment or working with fellows/residents.
Skill in guideline-based management (e.g., ACC/AHA) of common cardiovascular conditions (e.g., hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias).
Familiarity with cardiovascular imaging reports and interpretation.
Experience or interest in involvement in quality improvement, research support or education.
No evenings, no weekends, no hospital call – predictable schedule with work/life balance.
