Job Description:

The NOP Daily Ops Analyst supports the Network Operations Control Bridge with data requests, dashboard support, data insights, and potentially operational recommendations with the goal of minimizing the impact of potential disruptions or IROPS (irregular operations). They’ll collaborate with various partners to provide key NOC advanced analytical expertise in support of complex network solutions and assist the Planning Team in developing recommendations that are shared with the Disruption Pod and other day-of stakeholders. The NOP Daily Ops Analyst is a detail-oriented thinker ready to drive the future of Southwest.

Responsibilities
- Align on analytical requests, expectations, and priorities
- Provide advanced analytical expertise to support the Network Operations Control department with analytical requests (what-if scenarios, modelling, data pulls etc.)
- Develop tools to provide solutions to recurrent analytical requests
- Provide additional analytical support to the Disruption Pod and other adjacent groups as needed
- Utilize Southwest’s analytical tools (optimizers and dashboards) to run what-if scenarios to provide data backed recommendations
- Work collaboratively with the Planning Team to develop recommendations that are shared with the Disruption Pod and other day-of stakeholders
- Perform descriptive and diagnostic analyses of upcoming flight schedules to identify potential IROPS events
- Align analysis outcomes with adjacent groups and gather their input and feedback to improve future analyses
- Support long-term initiatives of the Network Operations Planning department
- Build relationships with Network Operations Control, adjacent workgroup stakeholders, and support departments to ensure constant sharing of knowledge and lessons learned
- Develop a deep understanding of airlines' priorities, value drivers, and challenges to translate technical needs to the operational and business teams involved in the work
- Support the development of new data sources with robust processes of data collection that ensure the reliability and validity of the data is suitable for the objective of the analysis
- Raise data and analysis limitations to the Manager Daily Operations Analytics
- Manage the documentation of analysis and outcomes in an accessible repository

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Intermediate knowledge of business analysis, process modeling and redesign
- Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Skilled in consensus-building
- Skilled in visualizing data to drive insights using tools such as MS Excel, Tableau, etc.
- Skilled in tools such as SQL, Alteryx, Excel, and Tableau
- Ability to solve complex problems
- Ability to independently prioritize assignments and shift focus quickly based on the need of the operation
- Ability to demonstrate and maintain a high regard for confidential and sensitive information
- Ability to think like an owner

Education
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in:
- Airline operations and/or operational data sets, tools and systems and related analytics
- Breaking down and solving ambiguous problems through quantitative and qualitative analysis
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space workstation/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
- Ability to work extended hours based on operational needs
- Ability to work in varying shift times based on operational needs
Pay & Benefits
- Competitive market salary from $82,800 - $92,000 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
