SUMMARY:
The Medical Assistant performs a mixture of both clerical administrative medical assisting, as well as clinical medical office assisting in Primary and/or Specialty care settings. The Certified Medical Assistant works in collaboration with licensed physicians and mid-level providers (NP/PA’s), and reports to a Physician Practice Manager.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clerical & Administrative Support: Greet patients, answer phones, schedule appointments, collect co-pays, process referrals and prior authorizations, and assist with EHR documentation and record management to ensure compliance with timely documentation standards.

  • Clinical Assistance: Room patients, record vitals, assist providers during exams and minor procedures, prepare and clean exam rooms, manage lab samples, and ensure accurate medication documentation within scope of practice.

  • Medical Documentation: Transcribe provider-patient encounters directly into the EMR, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal/state and CMS regulations; facilitate timely communication and follow-up with the care team.

  • Communication & Team Collaboration: Partner with providers, nurses, and directors to support efficient patient flow and quality care; maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a welcoming environment while upholding organizational values and service standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school Diploma

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 6 months of clinical experience as a nursing assistant or related field

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE:

$18.70 - $27.44

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
