Department Intro

Micron’s Yield Enhancement team is dedicated to ensuring flawless product releases by identifying and resolving yield-related issues. We serve as the critical link between Research and Development, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Quality Assurance.

Position Overview

As a Product Yield Enhancement Engineer, you will analyze complex problems, drive yield improvement projects, and enable Micron’s products to meet quality standards for internal and external customers. This role requires collaboration across multiple engineering fields and hands-on technical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Identify root causes of low yield through detailed data analysis.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve process and defect-related issues.
  • Perform physical failure analysis, including sample preparation and microscopy (FIB, SEM, CSAM, X-Ray).
  • Apply statistical tools to analyze product data and implement yield improvement strategies.
  • Follow chemical safety and lab procedures; maintain certifications.
  • Develop and apply best-known methods and innovate new approaches when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field OR 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in microscopy techniques (FIB, SEM, CSAM, X-Ray).
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools for yield improvement.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including day/night rotations every 4 months.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced expertise in sample preparation and microscopy.
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing or assembly defect analysis.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, integrity, and customer relationship management.
  • Highly motivated with a proven track record of getting results.
