WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION: Summary The Network Security Engineer is an integral part of the enterprise network security team and helps to ensure the security of digital platforms through the development and implementation of secure configurations, tools and processes. Furthermore, the Network Security Engineer functions as an escalation point for both networking and security issues, remediating outages, critical vulnerabilities and other issues, as well as mentoring more junior employees on security baselines, postures and policies. Roles and Responsibilities · Configure, manage, and optimize Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) to enforce network access policies, enhance identity-based security controls, and support compliance requirements. · Deploy, manage, and maintain enterprise firewalls and VPN infrastructure, ensuring secure connectivity, policy enforcement, and protection against unauthorized access. · Engage in security incident response activities, including detection, containment, investigation, and post-incident analysis. · Assist in reviewing and remediating penetration testing findings across enterprise infrastructure, ensuring vulnerabilities are addressed in accordance with security policies and timelines. · Analyze vulnerability datasets and provide actionable remediation guidance and best practices to product and application owners to reduce risk exposure. · Provide expert-level support to IT Infrastructure teams for security-related issues, including system outages, connectivity disruptions, and critical incident resolution. · Lead or contribute to Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives by evaluating emerging technologies and validating their effectiveness in securing enterprise environments. · Collaborate with project stakeholders to assess and validate security designs for new digital solutions, ensuring alignment with cybersecurity standards and architectural principles. · Implement and document controls and processes to ensure compliance with network and security standards, supporting audit readiness, operational clarity, and continuous improvement. · Support internal and external security audits by demonstrating compliance and identifying opportunities to strengthen the cybersecurity program. · Develop and maintain network security analytics, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve security operations, and support compliance reporting. YOU HAVE: Technical Skillsets · Strong experience in networking technologies, security architectures, and design principles · Advanced understanding of Cisco networking products, including Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control · General knowledge of Cisco security products and network segmentation strategies · Solid understanding of information security risks, frameworks (e.g., NIST, IEC-62443), and architecture standards · Demonstrated ability in threat modeling, data flow diagramming, and architecture risk analysis, including identifying flaws and driving remediation · Hands-on experience with incident detection, response, and remediation, including penetration testing · Experience with firewall and VPN infrastructure, including deployment, configuration, and policy enforcement · Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, and logging tools and practices · Experience with security analytics, reporting, and KPI development · Understanding of Operational Technology (OT) and Internet of Things (IoT) devices in manufacturing environments · Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, API integrations) is a plus · Experience with security efforts related to Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) is a plus Work Experience · 7+ years of experience in the IT industry · 5+ years of experience in networking and/or cybersecurity · 3+ years of progressive hands-on experience in solution design and architecture, with a primary focus on network security products Education · Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Certifications · Certifications in networking and/or security are a plus. · Preferred Certifications: Cisco Networking, ISC2, AWS Security or Azure Security Professional Skills · Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile, and dynamic environment · Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical data clearly · Strong project and priority management capabilities · Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills · Commitment to continuous learning and staying current on emerging technologies · Highly engaged in multi-tasking environments and capable of managing competing priorities
