The College of Art and Design seeks to appoint a Nadine Carter Russell Chair who will bring exceptional creative leadership, interdisciplinary vision, and national-level distinction to the College of Art & Design. The purpose of this endowed position is to elevate the academic and creative environment of the College by inviting a designer and scholar whose work exemplifies innovation, research-informed practice, and forward-thinking approaches to contemporary interior design challenges.
Job Responsibilities
The Russell Chair will lead a series of intensive design workshops, present a public lecture, contribute to exhibitions, and engage students across the undergraduate and graduate Interior Design programs. The Chair will collaborate with faculty to advance interdisciplinary dialogue and support curricular innovation at the intersection of design, technology, and research. In addition, the Chair will guide on-site and hands-on learning experiences, offer critique during Design Week activities, and provide targeted mentorship to both undergraduate and graduate students, including virtual engagement between major workshop sessions. The Chair is expected to work closely with the Director of the School of Interior Design and key faculty throughout the spring 2026 semester.
