Job Summary: This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration in the Munro Dispatch (TORM) organization of Real Time Operations (TOR), Transmission System Operations (TO), Transmission Services (T). A successful candidate in the Munro Dispatch Supervisor position will serve as the supervisor of the Munro Dispatch organization with responsibility for planning, supervising, and leading programs, systems, and work processes.

Major Duties:

  • As a Munro Dispatch Supervisor, you will: Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work. Identify developmental and training needs of employees and provide or arrange for needed development and training. Determine whether contractor-performed work meets standards of adequacy necessary for authorization of payment. Lead or participate as a technical expert in committees and working groups for resolving critical problems related to BPA Grid Operational Issues. During transmission system emergencies, exercise broad authority to arrange for purchases, hires, or loans of equipment, materials, and resources as needed.

Qualifications: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A qualified candidate's resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience 1) planning work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting and adjusting priorities, and preparing schedules for completion of work; 2) arranging transmission and communication system outages for part of the transmission system to allow the construction, maintenance, and repair of facilities; 3) determining the priorities and direction of field crews in the emergency restoration of electric service. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
