The Opportunity 

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a collaborative, creative, and highly organized Multimedia Producer to join the Information Technology Department in Daytona Beach, Florida. Reporting to the Digital Media Production Manager, this role involves simultaneously managing multiple video, audio, and photographic projects from concept to completion. The position requires strong time management skills to balance deadlines, coordinate production schedules, maintain high-quality results, demonstrate a strong willingness to learn, take direction and ensure adherence to the university’s branding standards.

Examples of photo and video initiatives and services include, but are not limited to, newsroom requests, Presidential and Provost events, philanthropy and alumni projects, university-wide and industry events, and strategic research requests. Primary Job Functions, Duties, and Accountabilities

  • Manage all aspects of video production, including pre-production meetings, concept development, scriptwriting, filming, directing, editing, and archiving.

  • Conduct photoshoots under the direction of leadership, including scheduling, location scouting, camera operation, framing, lighting, composition, editing, and color correction. Assist with sourcing photography and coordinating photoshoots with external vendors.

  • Provide event coverage during regular work hours, as well as evenings and weekends, as needed.

  • Communicate and collaborate with university leadership, internal stakeholders, industry leaders, and partners to determine multimedia needs, requirements, and timelines.

  • Maintain and organize audio, video, and image archives of university-related recorded events and productions.

  • Operate and maintain production equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality of cameras, audio recorders, video recorders, and related equipment.

  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in multimedia production, recommending upgrades or process improvements as appropriate.

Qualifications

Required Education and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Photojournalism, Videography, Editing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Required Minimum Number of Years Work-Related Experience

  • 1–3

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Experience in video and audio production, graphic design, photography, with a portfolio of creative work and social media, with demonstrated people skills and expertise in planning, designing, production methods, and management.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of multimedia production best practices, including lighting, sound, composition, and visual storytelling.

  • Demonstrated project management abilities, including scoping, scheduling, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication.

  • Ability to develop scripts and storyboards and guide the creative process from concept to final delivery.

  • Experience working in a team-oriented environment with other content creators, designers, and editors with a willingness to learn.

  • Knowledge of digital photography and ability to shoot images for multiple content platforms.

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator and InDesign.

  • Creative, self-motivated, and able to work on multiple projects independently as well as part of a team with the ability to take direction.

  • Ability to multitask and determine priority projects/assignments.

  • Ability to think critically and independently and inspire staff and colleagues.

  • General interest and dedication to the mission of Embry-Riddle.

  • Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality.

  • Ability to travel as needed.

Job Parameters

  • Respond to Priority 1 requests (emergency situations) on a 4/7 rotation.

  • Minimal travel required.
