Role Overview
As a Modern Workplace Engineer you will be responsible for the successful designing, testing and deployment of application packages for TP ICAP’s corporate desktop environment ‘OneDesk’. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the engineering and operational Modern Workplace teams to support our infrastructure and platforms, ensuring their ongoing stability and maintenance.
Role Responsibilities
Package, test, and deploy applications using tools such as Intune, SCCM, and Patch My PC, ensuring compliance with configuration and release management standards.
Perform structured testing and acceptance validation of packaged applications prior to deployment.
Manage installation and removal of applications and system components in accordance with defined procedures.
Monitor and maintain availability of packaged applications, contributing to capacity and performance planning.
Investigate and resolve incidents and problems related to application packaging and deployment, escalating where necessary.
Apply change control processes to ensure safe application rollout and deployments
Collaborate with stakeholders to define and manage requirements for application packaging and deployment.
Participate in business process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline packaging workflows.
Experience / Competences
Essential
Application Packaging Tools: Experience with MSI, MSIX, App-V, IntuneWin formats.
Deployment Platforms: Proficiency in Microsoft Intune, SCCM, and Patch My PC.
PowerShell Scripting: For automation of packaging, deployment, and troubleshooting tasks.
Operating System Knowledge: Strong understanding of Windows 10/11, including registry, file system, and permissions.
Software Configuration Management: Version control, change tracking, and rollback procedures.
Release & Deployment Processes: Familiarity with structured release cycles and deployment methodologies.
Desired
Security Awareness: Understanding of application hardening, elevation control, and secure packaging practices.
CI/CD Concepts: Exposure to modern deployment pipelines and automation tools.
User Experience Tools: Awareness of tools or techniques that improve employee experience through application delivery.
Project & Process Improvement: Experience contributing to packaging-related projects or workflow enhancements.
