Responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing. Follows standard operating procedures and ensures laboratory safety, quality and regulatory requirements are met. Full time day-shift Hematology and Coagulation technologist. Responsible for specialized testing and the teaching and training of new employees and students. Phlebotomy is required on weekends and when needed.Job Description
Collect laboratory specimens, as needed. Phlebotomy is performed every third weekend and if needed during the week. Process lab specimens and perform clinical laboratory testing, including manual and automated methods in Hematology and Coagulation, in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures. Additional departmental duties such maintenance, ordering, validation, etc. Demonstrate skill in use of equipment relevant to position. Demonstrate critical and independent judgement in decision-making and problem-solving. Demonstrate personal commitment to the principles, values, and ethics of the organization to promote a positive work environment. Seek personal learning opportunities. Recognize safety hazards and comply with all safety practices and protocols. This position serves as the main preceptor for students and also includes new employee training. Serve as a laboratory resource. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
