Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Senior Program Manager to support the Integrated Mission Systems (IMS) Operating Unit.  This Senior Leader will be responsible for coordinating the vision and strategy for the Integrated Mission Solutions Operating Unit and collaborate with functions leads to meet objectives.  This position is located in Warner Robins, GA.  The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for:

Building a collaborative relationship between the program office and functional areas Program performance including P&L, schedule, performance, customer relationships, and forecasting Mentoring and training OU program management team

What You'll Get to Do:

As the Integrated Mission Solutions OU Electronic Warfare Systems Business Area Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing all phases of the program life cycle from inception (proposal development) through startup, execution, and completion (contract closeout).

Job Responsibilities

  • Accountable for programmatic and financial commitments (Awards, Sales, Profit and Cash). Lead Programmatic and Financials Risk and Opportunities Management to achieve Financial Targets.

  • Review and approve all new business proposals and delegations including presentation of commitment reviews at all levels within the Sector.

  • Responsible for development of Long-Range Strategic Plan (LRSP). Define rationale for growth opportunities and conduct business case analysis. Support new business activities targeting change management, increasing scope and content on existing programs, and identifying new opportunities with existing and new customers.

  • Maintain current and actionable market-customer-pursuit intelligence that supports the assigned portfolio and operating unit objectives.

  • Provide direct leadership to Program/Proposal managers to proactively strengthen the operating unit through the performance management process, including individual and group goal setting, coaching and development. Manage operating unit priorities aligned with the strategy deployment process (SDP) and prioritize resource needs.

  • Partner with functional leadership to deploy qualified resources and improve processes, tools and training to meet customer demands. Evaluate and implement program and product best practices. Implement programs daily management standards, business systems and tools, and align improvement focus across operating unit.

  • Managing special projects focused on improving operational effectiveness

  • Serve as a subject matter expert amongst our customer community soliciting feedback, deriving requirements, providing input and implementing lessons learned

  • Act as a consultant to support critical operations on an as needed basis across the portfolio

  • Support executive level briefings on project strategy, plans and results

  • Prepares, develops and coordinates the integration plans and integrated schedules to meet all OU objectives.

  • Ensures major projects and program schedules and plans are horizontally and vertically integrated across functional groups.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of related experience, or Master’s and 8 years of related experience; 14 years of related experience will also be considered in lieu of Degree.

  • Strong business acumen with proven P& L experience .

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams as well as multi-million-dollar budgets.

  • Ability to interact effectively with both internal and external customers at all levels including senior executives

  • Experience with the pursuit of new contract vehicles

  • Ability to define proposal strategy, lead proposal teams, analyze and shape RFPs, produce and deliver winning proposals.

  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance OR must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or higher in related field

  • Active DoD Secret clearance or higher

  • Engineering/Technical background/understanding

  • Logistics experience (Supply support/Spares provisioning/Operations/Maintenance/CLS)

  • Air Force acquisition process knowledge (POM cycle, colors or money)

  • Successfully demonstrated balancing customer, employee, and shareholder objectives.

  • The ability to apply knowledge, insights and understanding of business and financial concepts, tools and processes to the benefit of program decisions, actions, and performance

  • The ability to identify and address program impacts through a systematic, proactive, approach to issue and problem resolution that identifies, communicates, monitors, and promptly resolves conflicts

  • The ability to address program uncertainty through an organized and analytical forward-looking approach that identifies risks and opportunities, determines appropriate handling plans, and manages, controls, and communicates risks and opportunities.

  • Builds strong relationships with strategic partners and key suppliers. Guides program team and support functions on how to take action to satisfy customer expectations.

Primary Level Salary Range: $161,500.00 - $242,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
