What your role and typical day might look like

As a Solution Architect at Merkle Aotearoa, you will be supporting the delivery of Salesforce solutions as one of our subject matter experts. This means leading the design of solutions, overseeing and supporting delivery activity and uplifting overall capability of the practice.  To do this successfully, you will support our customers in understanding their requirements to design solutions and advise on overall application and integration architectures where appropriate.  You will also be a key contributor in helping our internal teams with pre-sales activities, proposing solutions to enable optimal customer experiences, and providing effort estimates and planning delivery roadmaps

Fundamentally, the role is about providing exceptional solution architecture.  You’ll help companies and Senior Executives understand how to derive maximum value of their cloud ecosystems and leverage their data to better understand their customers, make better informed decisions, optimise processes and deliver outstanding experiences.

Responsibilities could include

  • Requirement analysis of client problems, design and development of solutions that meet client needs and follow best practice.
  • Development of architecture designs that could span multiple cloud platforms and on-premise applications, applying appropriate integration patterns, security controls and devOps considerations.
  • Appropriate and accurate documentation to support solutions and delivery, including options papers to empower stakeholders to make informed decisions.
  • Supporting pre-sales activities by creating high-level solution architecture, design, estimation and delivery planning.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to junior team members and contribute to the overall practice capability.
  • Provide timely and relevant feedback to support the development of others and the performance of the team.
  • Interact with client-team members to clarify requirements, demonstrate solutions and their value and gather feedback.

A bit about you

  • 2+ years as a client-facing Architect or Solution Lead role, delivering Salesforce solutions at an enterprise level. Experienced and certifications in core Salesforce CRM (Sales, Service, Cloud). Experience and certifications in other areas such as Marketing Cloud, Revenue Cloud/CPQ is a bonus.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in software development and/or technical consultant role delivering enterprise level Salesforce implementations with a sound understanding of Java/C#/HTML/JavaScript would be beneficial.
  • A good understanding of, and collaborating in, agile delivery methodology environments
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, able to ask effective clarifying questions to uncover requirements, root cause problems, and communicate architecture clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience from a professional services or consulting environment.
  • A tertiary qualification in a computer science or information systems highly desirable but not essential.
  • A natural collaborator, supporting different teams across the practice.
  • Experience in supporting pre-sales and RFP/RFI processes.
