24Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our core laboratory team as a part-time Medical Transcriptionist. Phlebotomists, C.N.A.s, PCTs, CMAs, or other individuals that have an interest in working in a laboratory setting are encouraged to apply.
What You'll Do:
As a Medical Transcriptionist, you will interpret and transcribe dictation of physicians and other health care professionals regarding patient assessment, workup, therapeutic procedures, clinical course, diagnosis, prognosis, etc., editing dictated material for grammar and clarity as necessary and appropriate. Primary responsibilities include:
Transcribe dictation by physicians and other health care professionals to facilitate delivery of health care services. Clarify unclear or incomplete dictation, seeking assistance as necessary
Work with providers and other medical record users to maintain integrity of data in the medical record to assure appropriate treatment and care of patients
Recognize, interpret, and evaluate inconsistencies, discrepancies, and inaccuracies in medical dictation or voice recognition process and appropriately edit, revise, and clarify them without altering the meaning of the dictation or changing the dictator's style
Perform quality assessments on completed dictation as requested, applying knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and English language rules to the transcription and proofreading of medical dictation, in accordance with the quality standards established by employer
Maintain accurate records of all procedures performed and ensure confidentiality of patient information
What's Available:
Part time, 48 hours biweekly (0.6 FTE). Will train/orientate full time for 4-6 weeks, depending on prior experience
8hr variable shifts. Will work primarily day shifts
Starting pay of $18.65 per hour and up, based on your experience, as well as applicable shift differentials
What You'll Need:
High School Diploma or equivalency
A minimum of 1-year work experience as a medical transcriptionist required
Effective communication skills to interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and laboratory staff
Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
