Medical Laboratory Assistant 1

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant 1 to join IQVIA’s laboratory business at Valencia, CA.

Support laboratory operations by assisting with routine procedures, specimen handling, and maintaining a clean and organized lab environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Provide administrative and technical support to laboratory staff

  • Wash, dry, and store laboratory glassware such as test tubes, beakers, and flasks

  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas, including disinfecting surfaces and equipment

  • Prepare and sterilize laboratory supplies and materials

  • Label tubes and prepare them for analysis

  • Facilitate post-analysis specimen storage and sample banking

  • Assist with equipment maintenance and lab area organization

  • Support inventory management and general lab workstation cleanup

What We Are Looking For:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Some CAP/CLIA lab locations may require an Associate Degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution)

  • 0–6 months of relevant work experience preferred

  • Basic knowledge of laboratory practices, safety procedures, and infection control

  • Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed for This Role:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures

  • Familiarity with sterilization, decontamination, and hazardous waste handling procedures

  • Understanding of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and terminology

  • Basic computer skills and ability to maintain effective workflow and reporting

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $24,400.00 - $50,900.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
