Description:

Prepares patients for office visits; performs tasks including escorting patient to treatment room, obtaining pertinent patient information for medical record, and documenting information in patients’ chart. Processes patient telephone calls and correspondence for the practice. Organizes and prioritizes duties to optimize efficiency and promote positive patient outcomes. Scribes information on a regular basis.

This person is responsible for assisting physicians while providing exceptional treatment to patients with a variety of medical conditions.

This critical role Performs various duties related to patient assistance, patient transportation and the cleaning of the operating rooms and general surgical area.

Work Hours/Shift:

  • Per Diem

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Exceptional Patient Care: Assures patient safety through proper identification process, appropriate directions and assistance when necessary.  Models techniques and is knowledgeable regarding hospital policies, i.e., patient identification.
  • Assists OR personnel with the set-up of operating room procedures, turnover, and terminal cleaning of rooms at the end of the day.
  • Demonstrates Clinical Competency: Assists OR personnel with obtaining, assembling and assuring the safety of the positioning equipment used on the operating table as needed.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification: CPR within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Effective communication, organizational and critical thinking skills.
  • Certified Medical Assistant

Preferred Skills: 

  • Experience: Minimum one (1) year experience in a healthcare facility as an orderly or transport aide preferably in a surgical or similar environment.

Pay Range: $18.00 - $26.10

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
