The Mechanical Technician  will work with respective cell leader of the Qatar Service Center to make sure all BH standards and Organizational need are met. He / She will also be responsible for Perform GT /CC Rotor Disassembly/ Assembly/ balancing / machining / mechanical balancing related activities on the Gas Turbine rotors in the organization

As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Preforming de-stacking and restacking of Heavy-duty Axial compressor Rotor and Turbine Rotor individually

  • Preforming de-stacking and restacking of Centrifugal Compressor Rotor individually

  • Preforming disassembly / assembly of buckets from Gas Turbine Rotor

  • Preforming dimensional, Run out (Mechanical & Electrical) and visual inspections of Gas Turbine / Centrifugal Compressor rotors

  • Operating dynamic balance machine (Horizontal / Vertical) to locate points of imbalance on parts, such as rotors, compressor discs, shaft, impeller wheels and balances parts by removing excess metal, using hand tools and power tools, or adding weights.

  • Operating and perform Turning, Drilling, Milling, Grinders, and Boring activities to required specifications

  • Maintaining relationships with other teams within the organization and provide balancing troubleshooting and support

  • Checking machinery on a daily basis to guarantee functionality

  • Ability to understand the rotor dynamic behaviors, diagnose residual unbalance values and correct them to requirement

  • Playing an active role in complex balancing solutions

  • Looking into the daily maintenance of balancing machine and perform the task correctly.

  • Preforming the visual dye penetrant inspection

  • Completing required documentation with accurate information such as routers / job card, labor reporting, checklist, and inspection reports.

  • Understanding measuring instruments, mechanical equipment and use of lifting tools.

  • Preventing and breakdown maintenance of machines, balancing facility and all its auxiliaries.

  • Maintaining a clean work area and contribute towards overall housekeeping efforts and other duties as needed

  • Updating digital shop systems related to assigned work (Digital Work Order, Time Vouchering, Operation completion)

  • Ensuring the work area is compliance with HSE requirement and full compliance with BH Policies / Procedures

Fuel your passion

  • Have High school diploma or equivalent qualification required

  • Have Certificate or diploma in engineering is an advantage

  • Have 10+ Years of relevant experience in lager Rotor like GE MS7001E/EA & MS9001E

  • Dynamic balancing machine operation (Horizontal & Vertical) using belt / coupling drive

  • Rotor disassembly / assembly experience is must

  • Overhead crane Operational experience is must

  • Understands engineering drawings & specifications

  • Knowing of dynamic balancing processes is an advantage

  • Knowing CNC Milling machine operations is an advantage

  • Knowing machining / milling / boring machine operations is an advantage
