Lead field installation of material handling (MH) systems for parcel, distribution, and fulfillment sites. You’ll manage small to mid-sized crews and subcontractors, drive a strong safety culture, coordinate multi-trade activities (mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, fire/alarm, paint/striping, data/network), and deliver on schedule, quality, and cost.
Safety leadership: Run weekly toolbox talks; complete daily JHAs and required permits (hot work, confined space, arc-flash); report incidents/near misses; maintain PPE and first-aid readiness.
Field execution & coordination: Plan and direct mechanical install activities; sequence work with electrical, pneumatics, fire systems, painting/striping, and data/networking teams; execute punch lists and drive to substantial completion.
Subcontractor & vendor management: Assign work, set expectations, verify quality, and enforce standards with subs and third-party vendors.
Logistics & site services: Coordinate rental equipment (forklifts, cranes, lifts), dumpsters/recycling, toilets/wash stations, safety fencing/screens, tooling, fuel, and expendables with the LPS Field Coordinator.
Material control: Receive/document deliveries, manage inventory and quality, track locations/usage, coordinate outbound shipments, and maintain 100% material accountability.
Progress tracking & reporting: Capture percent complete, crew schedules/restrictions, and daily work details; submit daily reports (progress, changes, issues, manpower, visitors, materials received) to the LPS Mechanical Installation Manager; keep routine progress photos.
Quality & compliance: Own installation quality (self-performed and subcontracted); enforce Fortna/customer specs and OSHA/industry standards; complete mechanical redlines and hand back to engineering at closeout.
Inspections & closeout: Host AHJ/building/electrical/fire inspections; close permits; drive final completion and cost control.
3–5 years of material handling installation experience.
1–3 years leading small installation teams.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proficiency reading/interpreting construction blueprints.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, results-driven.
OSHA 30 certification.
Experience leading medium–large installation teams.
Sorter installation/maintenance experience.
Parcel, distribution, and fulfillment MH install experience.
Subcontractor management experience.
Proficiency with MH Office Suites (e.g., MS Office/Google Workspace; MH-specific tools).
Strong multitasking and coordination skills.
The hourly range for this role is $24.09 to $36.06. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
