We are looking for a dedicated Engineer in Training II to join our dynamic team, where you will play a key role in overseeing the design of compressor station facilities for both expansion and maintenance capital projects. In this position, you will collaborate closely with third-party engineering firms to ensure all projects meet our Company standards, specifications, and industry requirements—while staying on budget and schedule.

What You Will Do:

  • Ensure that all compressor station facilities are designed in accordance with all regulations, applicable industry codes and corporate standards

  • Define the scope, schedule and budget for the design and materials for compressor station facility projects

  • Manage the execution of the design deliverables by a third-party engineering firm against the project budget and schedule

  • Review and approves design deliverables for example drawings, technical reports and material listing sheets

  • Review vendor materials quotations, prepare technical evaluations, and recommend to the supervisor selections based on technical merit along with price and delivery. 

  • Review lessons learned from past projects and incorporated recommendations into future designs

  • Support department initiatives as required

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering or Applied Science or equivalent

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience

Preferred:

  • Capable of working independently, managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks accordingly

  • Problem solves issues through use of standards, modification of standards and/or previous experience

  • Effectively communicate technical issues and impacts to other technical and non-technical staff

Working Conditions:

  • 80% of work is office-based working with multiple project teams

  • 20% of time is in the field scoping projects or supporting construction and commissioning activities

  • Time sensitive deliverables

Physical Requirements:

Include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 45 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
