Purpose of Role: The Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and assembly of various pumps and related equipment. They will assemble, sandblast/paint, and mount accessories to ensure fit without creaks/leaks and to ensure a quality end product is delivered to the customer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble Equipment: Read and interpret blueprints to assure accurate assembly of pumps, accessories, valves and process equipment including preparation of components before assembly and testing, and inspection after completion.
  • Inspect Equipment: Inspect in-process assemblies and completed pumps, valves, and process equipment per the design specification. Disassemble, clean and inspect equipment received from customers for repair, ensuring to accurately fill out all documentation/reports
  • Maintain Accurate Documentation: Accurately complete all required data, time sheets, quantity of parts, etc and ensure all data entry functions associated with customers or Weir equipment be performed accurately
  • Team Collaboration: Work with cross functional teams to improve processes, methods, and productivity. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members about potential issues and discrepancies
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • 2+ years of experience as an industrial mechanic
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals
  • Experience working with pumps and/or rotating equipment is an asset
