As a Materials Management Workleader, you are integral to helping facilitate Cleveland Clinic’s mission of providing state-of-the-art healthcare. You will serve as the work leader while performing various duties to support the department. You will also coordinate resources for daily assignments and work schedules. A caregiver in this position works days, Sunday-Thursday 5:00am—1:30pm, with holiday requirements as assigned.  

 

 A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Assist in the coordination of resources for daily assignments and coordinates work schedules to provide coverage for employees on paid time off and key activities. 

  • Distribute work to maintain departmental workflow for their assigned area. 

  • Supervise the department function and resources in the absence of the site leader. 

  • Support team manager in daily activities and provide team training and coaching to team members. 

  • Resolve shipping and receiving issues directly with the vendor or carriers. 

  • Monitor reports and resolve discrepancies. 

  • Verify accuracy of receipts and participate in consignment audits. 

  • Adjust par levels based upon usage within the ERP system. 

  • Develop and implement new systems or manage changes of existing systems when necessary. 

  • Respond to recalls as directed by the FDA or other agencies and ensure that the facility meets regulatory requirements in the handling of biohazardous waste. 

  • Coordinate backorder process to supply inventory 

  • Notify users of back orders and work to identify alternate products. 

  • Prepare broken or returned equipment for shipment and maintain documentation of returns. 

  • Manage consignment inventory items, maintain stock within defined areas and remove expiring items.  

  • Receive storeroom stock items from shipping and receiving area, unpack and inspect items for damage, verify accuracy of shipment and input information in the warehouse management system. 

  • Handle returns by completing technical documentation and other required communication. 

  • Support Site Managers with customer communications to fulfill areas’ stocking needs and anticipate future needs. 

  • Deliver supplies and materials to appropriate floors and health care facilities. 

  • Monitor the flow of traffic into dock areas, prioritizing deliveries ensuring the safe receipt of goods and supplies. 

  • Put away freight, supplies, packages, and perishable items from dock facilities using materials handling equipment. 

  • Verify accuracy of shipments, check for damage to goods and document variances of orders.  

  • Prepare goods and supplies for distribution, prioritizing deliveries, sorting and labeling loads ensuring the safe, correct and timely delivery of orders. 

  • Stock picking locations using warehouse management system. 

  • Survey, fill and stock Nursing floors and clinical areas to maintain inventory levels. 

  • Deliver items using necessary equipment to appropriate hospital locations, unload and unpack cases and stock designated storage areas with supplies. 

  • Respond to inquiries related to materials in stock, ordering procedures, status of item or filled orders. 

  • Maintain cleanliness of storeroom area and collect pallets from area and stacks for pick up. 

  • Collaborate with external teams to locate missing packages. 

  • Perform routine expiry management duties to meet KPIs. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • High School Diploma or GED  

  • Three years of experience in inventory control functions with responsibility for par levels, purchasing functions, inventory analysis, and usage trends OR an Associate’s Degree in Supply Chain or a related field 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Experience with WMS and MS Office  

  • Some leadership or experience providing work direction  

  • Strong computer skills, experience with inventory tracking systems  

  • Preferred experience in healthcare supply chain function 

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting items that weigh up to 50 pounds.

  • Requires the ability to push a fully loaded cart weighing up to 800 pounds, and pull a 2500-pound pallet using a manual pallet jack.

  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

  • Lifts and carries.

  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to within normal range.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and work irregular hours.
