Main Objectives
To co-ordinate the timely and cost-effective movement of all materials, Spellman products, and support services to the point of need; ensuring that Company performance targets are achieved. The job will involve the receiving of goods, kitting, cell replenishment and location of common parts. The job is also highly focussed in respect of environmental and lean considerations associated within the warehouse domain.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming materials in the inventory management system.
Safely load and unload delivery vehicles using the company forklift, following all safety guidelines.
Assist the Materials Team Leader in meeting departmental KPIs and support the implementation and upkeep of the 6S programme.
Perform precise daily cycle counts as scheduled.
Prepare and issue kitted parts for manufacturing, ensuring accuracy, timely completion, and proper system updates.
Release manufacturing orders daily in alignment with production schedules.
Apply FIFO (First In, First Out) principles consistently when distributing materials to production cells.
Process unplanned material requests through requisition and NCR systems.
Ensure all stock is stored securely, clearly labelled, and maintained in an orderly condition; actively contribute to stock reduction initiatives.
Manage daily replenishment of internal K-Bin systems for production cells and consumable racks.
Dispose of surplus materials in compliance with COSHH and ISO14001 standards, including recycling packaging materials.
Stay informed and actively support EMS initiatives, continuous improvement activities, and compliance with ISO9001 (Quality) and ISO14001 (Environmental) standards.
