The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Materials and Process Engineer(M&P) to support our Chemical Technology team located in St. Louis, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Technology Innovation (BTI) business organization.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Entry level and Associate.

This group is responsible for leading the material development and transition efforts for next generation material solutions. We are also responsible for identifying, developing, transitioning, and producing highly specialized materials and technologies for platforms within Boeing Defense Systems.

We are looking for someone who enjoys diversity in their work statement. The work statement will allow you to have a M&P focus area in highly specialized aerospace paints, coatings, pigments, sealants and composites, but projects will often require you to have more generalized M&P skills.  Ideal candidates will have the experience, abilities, and passion for paints and coatings, and have a desire to broaden their knowledge while maintaining technical depth in their chosen skill area.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Support the Research and Development of next generation Chemical Technology Materials including paints, coatings, pigments, sealants, and composites.
  • Participate in the evaluation and qualification of materials, suppliers, equipment, technology and processes to ensure that conformance and producibility requirements are met.
  • Apply knowledge of Materials Science and Engineering in order to develop, characterize, and qualify proprietary materials for application to air vehicle products.
  • Support the development of engineering processes, methods, and tools.
  • Participates in a research and development environment developing new materials and associated manufacturing and application processes.
  • Make routine contact with customers, teaming partners, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplined integrated product team, working alongside other skilled technicians, engineers, and support staff.
  • Assist in test development, routine analysis of failed parts and processes, generation of data to evaluate failed mechanisms and documentation of findings.
  • Assist in developing and revising documents and technical requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by assisting with the design, fabrication and testing of new concepts and technology.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Experience with Materials and Processing of paints, coatings, pigments, sealants, and/or composites.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance post hiring (U.S. Citizenship)
  • 1+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the evaluation and qualification of materials, suppliers, equipment, technology and processes.
  • Experience with Boeing material & process specifications.
  • An active Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).
  • Strong written and verbal skills with experience to effectively work within an Integrated Product Team environment.
  • Comfort working in an environment of change and in support of multiple programs, internal and external customers, technical challenges, and deadlines.

Summary Pay Range for Entry Level: $71,400 -$96,600

Summary Pay Range for Associate: $88,400 - $119,600
