What you will do:
The Materials Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of materials management within the India Plant. This role encompasses the entire supply chain, including planning, inventory control, and supplier relationships. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring timely delivery of materials, effective inventory management, and overall operational efficiency, while adhering to budgetary constraints and corporate objectives.
How you will do it
Planning and Customer Delivery:
Develop and lead short-term and mid-term production scheduling activities, ensuring alignment with customer demand and production capabilities.
Monitor production plans and schedules for accuracy, identifying potential issues and implementing solutions proactively.
Facilitate the expediting of materials to meet production needs, setting priorities based on urgency while addressing supply chain disruptions effectively.
Establish and maintain metrics to track on-time delivery performance, ensuring that goals are consistently met, contributing to customer satisfaction.
Collaborate closely with the Supply Planning Manager to assess and manage capacity requirements in reaction to changes in demand.
Work in partnership with Procurement to achieve material cost reduction targets through strategic sourcing and negotiation with suppliers.
Coordinate with Procurement in planning the procurement of components and raw materials, ensuring optimal management of consignment and blanket Purchase Order programs.
Inventory Management:
Lead and enhance inventory control procedures, including the organization and execution of cycle counts, physical inventories, and managing the logistics of receiving, warehousing, and shipping activities.
Implement best practices for inventory management to minimize excess and obsolete inventory, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
Utilize data analysis and forecasting to optimize inventory levels, reduce carrying costs, and support operational efficiency.
Oversee the development and execution of strategies to improve inventory turnover rates while maintaining service levels.
What we look for
Overall, 15+ years. Ideal candidates will possess a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, along with extensive experience in materials planning and inventory management. Strong analytical skills, leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of supply chain processes are essential for success in this role.
