General Summary:
Drive forklifts and use hand trucks to move parts between steps in the manufacturing operations, particularly Secondary, Shipping, and Machining departments. Coordinate material flow with production outputs.
Essential Functions:
- Supply operators with correct parts and maintain flow of operations
- Drive forklift and use hand trucks
- Move parts between departments
- Deliver packaging, bins, baskets, and scrap tubs to work cells
- Move empty scrap tubs to required locations
- Weigh parts for part counts
- Ensure proper inventory documents are located with products
- Ensure correct paperwork is attached to all part baskets
- Organize storage areas, including rework, secondary work in process and quality areas.
- Ensure scrap is properly labeled and moved in a timely manner
- Provide leadership to co-workers
- Provide direction to co-workers as necessary
- Foster a positive work environment by developing and maintaining good working relationships with other departments
- Be engaged in all 5S activities by setting an example of organization.
- Adhere to company safety procedures
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area
- Foster a safe work environment
- Adhere to department expectations, including performing other duties as needed including working outside your department.
