BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as Material Flow Coordinator (M/F/D) at our production plant in Viana, Portugal.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage daily operations related to the supply of raw materials to production lines, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support the implementation of new logistics and distribution systems in coordination with the Internal Logistics Leader, including the development of tools, process digitalization, and RFID systems.
  • Oversee the SMT process, focusing on supply flow definition and process implementation.
  • Manage warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, handling and automated storage systems), ensuring proper data maintenance.
  • Act as the liaison between Production Planning and Operations, particularly for Sample Builds—verifying quantities and preparing assembly kits.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support problem-solving activities.
  • Communicate with Procurement and Vendor Planning to align material requirements and adjust plans to avoid disruptions.
  • Prioritize Sample Build production activities based on material availability and current demands.
  • Provide technical support to Warehouse Team Leaders in problem-solving, setting priorities, and implementing strategies (including ERP system support).
  • Define and maintain shelf-life configurations in the material master according to requirements.
  • Promote and follow safe work practices and procedures.
  • Actively participate in the improvement of the environmental management system and ensure compliance with ISO 14001 standards.
  • Develop a culture characterized by good professional ethics and involvement in the process among employees in all áreas;
  • Comply with environmental, health and safety, quality and productivity standards;
  • Comply with the organization's rules and internal regulations: Code of Ethics, practice and working period;
  • Respect workplace safety and cleanliness rules;
  • Perform other tasks not included in the activity for which they were hired, when the needs or convenience of service so warrant, for the period of time necessary for the aforementioned needs or convenience of service.

Education & Experience

  • Technical education in Logistics or Management;
  • Experience with SMT processes and equipment;
  • Understanding of layouts and material/information flows
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook);
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and MES;
  • Familiarity with automotive industry standards and customer requirements;
  • Skills in presentation, communication, and negotiation;
  • Fluent in English (preferred).
