Duties & Responsibilities:

Job Summary:

The Material Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials within Viavi Solutions, LLC's operations. This position involves advanced coordination and management of materials, from procurement to delivery, to support production schedules and inventory accuracy.

Job Responsibilities:

* Manage and coordinate the procurement, storage, and distribution of raw materials, components, and finished goods to meet production demands and customer orders.
* Develop and maintain advanced inventory control strategies, including cycle counting, discrepancy resolution, and root cause analysis, to ensure high levels of inventory accuracy.
* Collaborate closely with production, planning, purchasing, and logistics departments to optimize material flow, resolve supply chain issues, and minimize production delays.
* Utilize and maintain Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems and other enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools to forecast material needs, generate purchase requisitions, and track material status.
* Oversee the receiving, inspection, and shelving of incoming materials, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to quality standards.
* Coordinate outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentation, to ensure timely and accurate delivery to customers or other facilities.
* Identify and implement process improvements within material handling and inventory management to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall operational performance.
* Train and mentor less experienced material coordination staff, providing guidance on best practices and system usage.
* Generate comprehensive reports on inventory levels, material movement, and supply chain performance for management review.
* Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards related to material handling and storage.
 

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Job Qualifications:

* Minimum of 1y2-ears of progressive experience in material coordination, inventory control, or supply chain logistics, preferably in a manufacturing or technology environment.
* Proven advanced proficiency with MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and other inventory management software.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
* Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
* Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe may be required.
* Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds independently and stand for extended periods.
