Marketing & Event Trainee Position Overview

We're looking for a motivated and creative Marketing & Event Trainee to join our team! This is a hands-on learning opportunity for someone excited to grow their skills in digital marketing and event planning. You’ll spend about 75% of your time supporting our digital marketing efforts from brainstorming and creating social media content, writing blog posts, and exploring brand voice, to assisting with website updates and engaging visuals. The remaining 25% of your time will be spent supporting our Events team, helping to bring community experiences to life through wellness events, farmers markets, summer family series, 5Ks, and more. Work related to events is performed in a variety of weather conditions. Trainees must be ready for outdoor tasks year-round, including setting up tents, moving signage, transporting equipment, and more.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: (I changed the order of this to better fit responsibility priority)

  • Assist in managing the local production and use of all social media outlets, digital data archives, and on-site collateral including weekly inventory verification, updating and posting when necessary.
  • Assist and support with tourism and outreach programs, including creating and distributing correspondence internally to all tenants.   
  • Support Marketing department with the creation and execution of all marketing collateral to include but not limited to placing signage throughout property, distributing communication and collateral to retailers, tracking and ensuring delivery of such collateral, etc.
  • Develop relationships with retailers as an extension of the marketing team.
  • Support and execute administrative elements for the Marketing Department including execution of sponsorship/event deals, contracts, set up and special events.
  • Knowledgeable about all aspects of The Battery Atlanta mixed use development and partner programs.
  • Under the strategic direction of the Director of Marketing & Events, and with day-to-day guidance and oversight from the Digital Marketing Manager and Marketing & Events Manager, engage in inter-departmental project management as needed.
  • Provides support and assistance to other BDC departments as requested and approved by Director of Marketing & Events, participate in team meetings and ensures compliance with all property management policies and procedures.

TRAINEE PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:

  • College graduate, Bachelor's or Master's, with a GPA of at least 3.0 at graduation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and relate well with individuals of diverse backgrounds and within all levels of the company
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Customer service oriented
  • Excellent executive presence
  • Ability to work long hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Must complete a background check

ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fluent in English both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize, coordinate, multi-task, and demonstrate initiative under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Superior ability to effectively communicate verbally, visually, and in writing are essential
  • Meets commitments, produces accurate work, solution oriented and results driven
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
