Job Description
The Marketing Manager oversees the coordination and implementation of the marketing actions to meet business priorities for their markets. Their primary focus is driving retail marketing success in-country across both the Direct Owned Trek Store (DOTS) and Independent Bike Retailer (IBD) network. They are the first point of contact for all partner level retailers, and work closely with Territory Managers to drive marketing activity in our IBD retailer network.
The Marketing Manager will report into the Country Manager but work very closely with the EMEA Marketing Director and the EMEA Retail Marketing Manager to ensure global alignment on campaigns, projects and programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead retail marketing strategy and direction across three focus areas: DOTS marketing execution and store support, Key Retailer collabs and co-op marketing, and broader IBD marketing support via scalable tools, assets, and guidance.
- Act as the main point of contact on retail marketing for Territory Managers, and partner-level IBDs. You will be on-site and visiting these key partner retailers with TMs regularly to build relationships, and help improve their marketing efforts
- Provide strategic input and feedback to EMEA/Central teams on market opportunities, product focuses, and campaign alignment for B2C & B2B, creating briefs to EMEA Digital Marketing Manager / EMEA Retail Marketing Manager for local campaigns & tactics as needed
- Develop, coach and manage the retail marketing specialist to drive DOTS success through great marketing plans per store, activities that drive visibility, footfall and sales.
- Responsibility for overall marketing budget including tracking and reporting, incl. DOTS budget planning. Provide budget direction for digital spend to EMEA Digital Marketing Manager
- Ensure successful product launches by working with partner level retailers to generate launch content which drives awareness and sales
- Organize key retailer update digital meetings, in which you will be the marketing expert advising them on retail marketing best practice
- Own the preseason show – hitting pre-defined attendance targets
- Own the marketing strategy and direction for the DOTS website (if present in your market), including campaign planning, site content, promotions, UX, eCommerce marketing plan and performance oversight
- Owns the Lead List performance for all DOTS in their market, works with Territory Managers on Ascend Lead List usage in key dealers
- Own the DOTS/Retail ambassador and commercial partnerships programs – working with Store Managers to ensure the right local ambassadors are in place, and we are gaining the maximum exposure/benefit from their activities
- Lead the development and execution of advocacy and community social responsibility marketing initiatives in collaboration with retailers and local partners
- Ensure retailers are engaging with Trek University, making it a key part of any retail conversation/visit
- Manage the adoption and usage of key systems such as Locally and Apostle to maximise uptake and effectiveness
