Job Description

About the role:

As a Market Consultant, you will build long-standing trusted partnerships with intermediary clients that increase long-term holdings of Invesco products and services. Serving as the face of Invesco to clients, you will be an integral part of fostering the client journey.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Develop differentiated client relationships, including growing existing client relationships and developing new profitable relationships to reach maximum wallet share

  • Approach all interactions as a consultant, starting with client needs and optimally maximizing internal resources needed to meet those needs, including delivering insight-based education, coaching, and portfolio construction consultations

  • Perform portfolio construction and manager selection consultations to clients with varying technical expertise (includes practice level CIOs, CFAs, and analyst gatekeepers)

  • Develop and complete a data-driven client segmentation strategy

  • Deliver product presentations to current and prospective Financial Advisors via telephone, WebEx, office visits, cluster meetings, seminars, and conferences

  • Build and implement strategic travel rotation to cover smaller boutique firms across the country and clients in non-metropolitan areas

  • Partner with the Division Sales Director to develop and implement a territory sales plan which is aligned with the overarching division plan

Requirements of the role:

  • 3+ years of asset management sales experience; undergraduate, college degree or equivalent preferred; CFA, CIMA or similar certification a plus; Series 7 and 63 required (63/65 can be substituted for the 66)

  • Background in and knowledge of capital markets, the mutual fund and ETF industry and products is crucial

  • Consultative, client first approach, delivering solutions, not products, to meet client needs and get results

  • Excellent listening skills with a natural inclination to focus on client needs coupled with strong presentation and interpersonal skills

  • A digital and data-driven mentality to develop and execute on a strategic business plan, including the adoption of technologies that improve efficiency and lead to an enhanced client experience

  • Technical investment expertise including superior knowledge of mutual funds, ETFs, SMAs and their competitive landscape and in-depth understanding of Capital Markets and the impact of economic factors

  • A growth mindset with a business-owner mentality

The salary for this position is $70,000/ year. The total compensation offered for this position includes salary and incentive pay and will vary based on skills, experience and location.
