Job Description: Specialized Travel Consultant - Marine & Energy Segment
Location: Ulsteinvik, Norway
About the Role
Our Specialized Travel Consultants work in a high-touch service environment to book travel and accommodation for some of our top energy & marine clients at Amex GBT. This is a full-time, office-based position located in our Ulsteinvik office, where you will work in a collaborative team environment with direct interaction with colleagues and clients.
Key Requirements:
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a travel consultant
• Extensive experience in marine booking and crew changes
• Proficiency in recent versions of Amadeus GDS
• Strong ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply complex travel regulations, fares, and tariff structures
• Fluent Norwegian language skills, with ability to understand Norwegian dialects
• Strong relationship-building skills with both customers and colleagues
What You'll Do
• Advise and arrange travel for within the energy and marine segment (both individuals and groups of crew)
• Arrange and book domestic and international business and crew travel, in a variety of complexity, for air, road, rail, and accommodations
• Use Amadeus as a primary booking tool
• Communicate effectively with customers through telephone, messaging, and email
• Act as a trusted advisor by using travel expertise to proactively provide advice and additional services
• Work individually and as a team to meet business and account-specific goals
What We're Looking For
• Minimum 3 years of experience in travel, with focus on business travel and crew rotations
• Deep understanding of fares and ticketing rules for car, air, and hotel
• Passion for excellence in client service
• Native GDS expertise (preferably Amadeus)
• Exceptional communication skills in Norwegian and English
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Strong integrity and commitment to protecting traveler information
• Proven ability to resolve customer issues independently
• Excellent teamwork and openness to feedback
