Come join Collins as Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering for Troy wheels & brakes manufacturing operations onsite in Troy Ohio. As a Senior Manager, you will lead the execution of long-term strategic plans spanning over 3 years. You will oversee a team of technical professionals focusing on tactical and operational plans to drive efficiency and excellence in manufacturing processes for a wide variety of manufacturing operations including machining, material finish, and robotic paint. Your role will involve tackling undefined, difficult, and moderately complex problems, communicating with stakeholders both within and outside the organization, and driving superior manufacturing performance.

  • This position will be Onsite at our Troy, OH Facility.
  • This position may be eligible for relocation.

What You Will Do 

  • Drives a focus of safety across site. Hold yourself and the team accountable for safety compliance / requirements
  • Lead and develop a team of manufacturing engineers  and technical personnel
  • Establish performance metrics for manufacturing processes and implement methods to sustain
  • Identify and implement process improvements using Lean manufacturing principles and statistical analysis
  • Lead root cause investigations, improve yield, and reduce non-conformances 
  • Oversee the integration of new automation technologies and upgrades to existing systems
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects within scope and budget
  • Ensure adherence to quality management system and product safety requirements 
  • Travel up to 10% 

What You Must Have 

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
  • 5+ years’ experience leading engineering professionals including building effective teams
  • Experienced with project management
  • Experience reading and interpreting material and process specifications, engineering drawings, technical reports, manuals, and work instructions
  • Experience adapting machine and equipment design to factory and production conditions
  • Ability to multitask, problem solve and manage time effectively.

  

Qualifications We Prefer 

  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities using root cause analysis and statistics. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Understanding of PLC controls or CNC programming
  • Results oriented, with a strong bias for action. 
  • Strong technical expertise in manufacturing processes, automation, and quality management systems. 
  • Proficiency in strategic planning, budget management, and project management methodologies; PMP certification. 
  • Experience in industrial engineering
  • Experience in developing and implementing new processes, standards, and best practices.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
