The Boeing Company’s Production Engineering team has an exciting opportunity for an Early or a Mid-Level Manufacturing Engineer located in Long Beach or San Diego CA. This position will focus on supporting build integration on a variety of programs across Boeing Commercial Airplanes, with a focus on electrical commodity. Our Team coordinates and implements Engineering Changes to Boeing Factories and suppliers all over the world. Additionally, we assist with emergent issues from the factory floors, process standardization efforts, periodic audits, and/or quality checks.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of production and tooling methodologies.
  • Participates as a member and leader of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) in the integration of technical solutions.
  • Leads and implements manufacturing plans.
  • Works with others to develop, identify and implement conceptual designs and maintenance of the program architecture for build.
  • Assists in creation and implementing manufacturing plans.
  • Resolves technical problems and assists in the implementation of new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts.
  • Assists in the implementation of Lean principles and technologies.
  • Works with professional associations, suppliers, IPTs and internal customers to develop products, skills, knowledge and experience.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, technology, physics or chemistry or equivalent Engineering Experience.
  • 5 or more years’ experience Developing Manufacturing Plans based off of released Engineering, contractual requirements, depot maintenance documents, and other authorities for Operations.
  • Working Knowledge of Production shop layout and flow and how Manufacturing plans tie into that flow.
  • 2 or more years Production Configuration Management
  • 2 or more years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment, specifically in electrical commodity

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 2 or more years’ experience performing work per written documentation/authorities and knowledge of how release authority works
  • Experience implementing or defining new Manufacturing processes in a production setting.
  • 2 or more years’ experience working with multi-functional teams/organizations.
  • Experience with the following software PDM, CAPP, REDARS-EID, IVT, WIRS, EWITS, BWS-CM, CDS, EWIRE, E-PLAN, VELOCITY, ENOVIA, EWIRE, Equipment Manager

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range for Associate-Level (level 2): $89,250 - $120,750

Summary pay range for Mid-Level (level 3): $105,400 - $142,600
