Managing Director, Analytics & Data Products

McLean, VA Full time

Why Join Us

At Cigna and Evernorth, you’ll be part of a team that’s redefining healthcare through data and innovation. You’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact—on our business, our customers, and the future of healthcare.

Help Us Transform Health Care Through Data
At Cigna Group, we are committed to improving the health and vitality of those we serve. As part of our mission to make healthcare more personalized, proactive, and accessible, we are seeking a visionary Managing Director, Analytics & Data Products to lead a team focused on unlocking the power of data to shape our digital strategy and enhance the consumer experience.

This role is ideal for a strategic leader who thrives at the intersection of data, digital innovation, and healthcare transformation. You’ll lead the creation of an analytics strategy that drives meaningful improvement in business outcomes, clinical outcomes, and consumer experience. You will build and lead a team to execute on that strategy, partner across the organization to build the corresponding data foundation and oversee data operations to ensure data is managed as a product—discoverable, trustworthy, and reusable for analytics, AI, and digital innovation. You will identify and prioritize the data needed to be connected, and work closely with engineering to design scalable data architecture, schemas, and entities that support digital products, AI, and dashboards in production environments. As part of the strategy, you will also establish and implement a framework for evaluating the impact of digital programs and lead an experimentation agenda that results in smarter, more human-centered digital experiences.

What You’ll Do

Lead with Purpose

  • Build and lead a high-performing analytics and data operations team.
  • Partner with both digital and business teams to develop high-value digital programs through insight generation and robust data enablement.
  • Establish and grow digital program evaluation to assess business impact and consumer experience.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Drive Impact Through Analytics and Data Operations

  • Develop and oversee measurement frameworks to assess the effectiveness of digital health, marketing, and engagement programs.
  • Translate complex healthcare data into actionable insights that inform digital strategy and improve consumer outcomes.
  • Identify and prioritize data needed to connect and integrate multiple sources for comprehensive analytics and digital solutions.
  • Oversee the development, stewardship, and continuous improvement of data products, ensuring data is discoverable, and reusable for analytics, AI, and digital use cases.

Shape the Future of Digital Health

  • Partner with cross-functional teams—including digital product, marketing, clinical, and technology—to align analytics and data operations with strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with engineering to design and implement scalable data architecture, schemas, and entities that enable digital products, AI, and dashboards to scale and operate in production environments.
  • Collaborate with Technology to implement API-based data delivery mechanisms, enabling seamless data flow into digital platforms and AI solutions.
  • Influence decision-making at the highest levels by presenting clear, compelling insights and recommendations.

Champion Data Stewardship & Innovation

  • Leverage claims, digital engagement, EHR and CDP data to uncover trends and opportunities.
  • Promote the use of advanced analytics, experimentation, and predictive modeling to optimize digital efforts.
  • Drive a “data as a product” mindset to enhance data stewardship, usability, and enterprise value.

What You Bring

  • Significant senior leadership experience in an analytics role.
  • Proven success in evaluating digital programs and influencing strategy through data.
  • Deep experience with healthcare data, including claims; familiarity with EHR and other clinical data is a strong plus.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, consumer engagement, and experience optimization.
  • Experience implementing data governance, quality, and stewardship frameworks.
  • Experience designing scalable data architecture, schemas for AI applications and API-based data delivery for digital technologies.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate data into business impact.
  • Experience working in matrixed environments and navigating ambiguity with confidence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in payer, provider, or digital health organizations.
  • Proficiency with tools such as SQL, Python/R, Tableau/Power BI, and cloud-based data platforms.
  • Experience with experimentation methods (e.g., A/B testing) and causal inference techniques.
  • Experience developing and managing data products and API-based data delivery.
