Manager, Supplier Development and Performance APAC

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL: 

The GSDP Manager, evaluates, selects, and applies standard quality engineering principles and techniques to controls business supply chains and manufacturing locations & DCs in APAC. Manages results and ensures they meet established needs and goals.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  • Lead APAC controls supplier quality strategy development and implementation, develop APAC controls supplier metrics.
  • Support the RCLP (Rapid Closed Loop Process, JCI Production Development Process) process through implementation of On-Site Operational Assessments, Supplier Safe Launch, PPAP and participation in Project teams.
  • Facilitate utilization of APQP with manufacturing and engineering organizations supporting supplier related activities.
  • Support RMA team & product engineering team and the resolution of major warranty issues and in the application of advanced statistical analysis, problem solving techniques and quality tools, and the MQR (management quality review) problem escalation process.
  • Responsible for supporting the validation and verifying of corrective actions within the supply base.
  • Act as a liaison between Procurement and Product group leadership to support supplier warranty and quality initiatives including the support of Cost Recovery.
  • Facilitate the application of SCR (supplier change request) in APAC controls business.
  • Develop Supplier Engagement Schedules in conjunction with Controls Product Strategies and Procurement Strategies, DCs and Manufacturing Operations requirements. Perform On-Site Operational Assessments / QBBP Process Audit and required re-qualifications per defined schedules.
  • Lead the regular Controls products reliability test / type test per established plan.
  • Lead Supplier Performance Evaluation work through quarterly-based scorecard and lead the actions for identified bottom suppliers.
  • Lead and manage cross functional supplier improvement project using standard project management techniques to drive toward corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop supplier quality roadmaps leading to improved supplier performance metrics based on assessments performed.
  • Facilitate the application of problem-solving techniques in all supplier quality aspects.
  • Train key suppliers and project team members in critical competencies necessary for project realization.
  • Audit and approve all new APAC controls suppliers from the quality point of view in Blossom system
  • Be a role model of integrity, safety, continuous improvement, and sustaining the culture of diversity & inclusion and strengthening the teamwork spirit as ONE JCI team to best serve JCI’s customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we look for

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, manufacturing engineering, management or equivalent experience in manufacturing.
  • A minimum of seven years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, DMAIC (Blackbelt/Greenbelt) training, Lean manufacturing experience, problem solving training (8D), strong facilitation skills, working knowledge of APQP techniques.
  • Familiarity with controls products and manufacturing processes including PCBA (used in DDC and Thermostat), actuator, valve and sensor.
  • Possess strong oral, written, and listening communication skills, and team building skills, good business acumen and a team player
  • Proficient in English and Mandarin
  • Proactive, result oriented, open minded
  • Ability to work in multi-tasking and a multi-cultural environment
  • Travel requirement 30% - 50%, including international.

Preferred

  • Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing certification preferred.
  • AQC CQE certification desired.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
